Hey everyone! We got some awesome new features in the works that you can read about below. The goal is to release this in our next big update version 2.0 which should add some fun new mechanics and overhauls to our old stuff. We appreciate all the feedback we have been receiving lately and are working hard to get new and old content polished for the next release! 

A major goal for us moving forward is adding player agency to reshape our game into a roguelike experience. Our first step in this process is adding “Populace Stats” which will trigger different events. These events will give players choices that can give modifiers and bonuses to ensure every round of Babel is different. This adds many new layers of complexity to the game and increases strategic potential.

Floors:

  • Added a new system to manage floors, making it easier to add new floors
  • Reworked scriptable objects to better work with new floor system

Event System

  • Created new events, events currently popup every 60 seconds. Events add new player choice to the game forcing the player to make decisions that will effect the growth of their tower
  • Created one event to test

Art

  • Added new clouds and sky assets
  • New upgraded arrows assets
  • Fixed old assets to stay in the same color palette as other assets

UI

  • Added UI for events
  • Fixed UI overlap with new event system

Misc

  • Added the ability to pause different game functionalities
  • Deleted old assets
